This hard drive will allow you to add a 2nd hard drive to your Dell Notebook Computers by using the optical drive bay. Simply remove your optical drive and put this hard drive in it's place, you will have an extra hard drive for your Dell notebook computer. This is an excellent solution for adding extra storage or back up data from primary hard drive.

    How to remove optical drive?
    In order to install this 2nd hard drive to your Dell notebook computers, you need to remove the optical drive and install the 2nd hard drive into the optical drive bay. Here is how to remove the optical drive:

    1. Follow the instructions in General Safety Guidelines for Working with Notebook Computers.

    2. Turn the computer upside down and remove the M2.5 x 8-mm security screw labeled with a lock icon.



    3. Insert a screwdriver into the indentation for the security screw, and push the notch on the metal tab to release the drive from the bay.

    4. Pull the drive out of the drive bay.
