If your USB port external drive is designed to be powered from USB port (such as our pocketsize external hard drive and slim external CD/DVD/CDRW/DVDRW Drive), but your computer USB port can not supply enough power, you can use this USB Y cable with battery pack to power your external drive: It will draw extra power from 2nd USB port. If the power is still not enough, the built-in battery on the USB cable will provide the extra power your device need.



With the rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery on USB cable, A external drive such as the Slim DVD +/-RW & CD-RW drive can work without an AC adapter via the USB port connection. Just connect your USB port external drive to your PC's USB port with this special USB cable with built-in battery , your external drive will start to work with AC power adapter. With advanced power management technology, the external drive uses limited power from USB bus power. Any shortage of power will be supplied by the battery. While the external drive is idle, the battery will be recharged via USB bus power.

Note: If your device has a USB type B female connector, you can directly connect it to this USB cable with battery. If your device has a mini 5 female connector, and you already have a USB A male to Mini 5 male USB cable, then you can order an extra USB A female to USB B female adapter listed on this page, connect the B female end of the adapter to the end of this USB battery cable, connect your device to the A female end of the adapter through the USB cable you have.

This battery is charged from computer USB port. You can also use our USB Port AC Power Charger Adapter to charge it from a 110V~220V AC power source
