1. Unplug the AC adapter, if present, and remove the battery.
2. Use the flat-blade screwdriver to carefully pry up the right end of the keyboard cover, just above
the Delete key, then lift the cover off of the notebook.
3. Remove both retaining screws from the top of the keyboard.
4. Raise the top of the keyboard, then lift the keyboard up and out of the notebook, and lay it face down on the top case, forward of its normal position.
Caution: When opening the keyboard, be careful not to pull on the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the notebook. You don’t need to disconnect the keyboard
cable.
5. Remove both retaining screws from the back of the optical drive.
6. Carefully slide the optical drive out of the notebook.
