Well the device does not work, called and they did offer a replacement, if i returned it. doesnt make sense for me to spend $30 on the device shipping, originally. Then pay for shipping the item back to them and then repay for shipping back to myself again. (grand total would be over $55 dollars for a device that cost about $25). Ill just take it as a loss and not bother with them again. Speaking with a peson theyre said that the thing would supply power to assist a 500 power USB. I have verified that the usb port on my device does in face supply 500.

Comments: I ordered a DC-DC (car cigarette lighter) power converter and a slim combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM for a Dell Lattitude C-series laptop. The items arrived on time and in good condition. They work fine and Im happy with them. The optical drive was on the expensive side, but thats because Dell in their wisdom designed the C-series laptops with a curved front edge so the drive requires a non-standard face plate. I chose BixNET because they advertised new drives, not pulls or refurbished, and that seems to be what they shipped. The software I received included Cyberlink PowerDVD and the Nero OEM suite, which are entirely satisfactory for my purposes. Installation of the new drive in the caddy that held the old drive was straightforward, but it does require a tiny jewellers-size phillips screwdriver. I happened to have one, but keep that in mind if youre planning to upgrade a removeable laptop drive.

Ive tried for months to find a universal power supply in stores in Germany that would work, but could not find one that supplied sufficient amperage. I did find one from Hama, that I paid about $50 for, but it only worked for a couple of months before it burned out. Another problem, in addition to the proper voltage and amperage, was that I need a right-angle connector because of the location of the power jack behind the monitor stand. I had not been able to find anything that met all these needs, even on the Internet because of overseas shipping restrictions on electronic parts. I work for the U.S. military overseas. I finally found EXACTLY what I was looking for from Bix, and they shipped to my APO address. I was further amazed at their modest shipping charges and rapid delivery. Bix will be the first place I look for electronic parts in the future!

I had a problem with hardware installation due to my lack of knowledge (I thought the new drive was incompatible). I sent an email to BiX sales, expecting to return the drive for a different one; they figured out my problem exactly (no doubt I wasnt the first person with this problem) and BiX tech support responded within about 12 hours with written instructions and photos that illustrated how to do what I needed to do. Also, the hard drive cloning software was very easy to use and quite powerful and flexble. Great product; great tech support; OK prices, but not the absolute cheapest.
